What We DID NOT LIKE About the Posture Perfect Support

Let’s see, where do we start?

posture perfect review pic

The product’s description online says “Machine washable.” The package says “Machine washable.” The tag on the product, as one user discovered, says “Handwash only.” Say what??? Read the story here.

Wonderful! Feel free to machine wash the packaging.

Of course, nobody will stop you from machine washing the product either, but to slightly reword a sign we often see in “parking spaces” beneath construction sites, “Wash at your own risk.”

Oh, well. It’s such a tiny product, washing it in the sink with your undies should cause no trouble at all.

Now for that one-size-fits-most clause: We don’t know if the actual number of people who do fall within the size-6-to-16 range is enough to qualify as “most,” but the gist is, when you’re not in that size range, who cares if the device fits the rest of the world?

If you’re too big or too small for the product, you could sew it to make it fit. Read the story of a user who successfully did that here.

And now, for the clincher: Does it work?

Well, one cannot really argue with taste. For our taste, this device is too flexible to offer any real support. And this user agrees. Click here to read the story.

What it can do effectively is to remind you to straighten your shoulders, as this user says here. Again, at $11, you need to manage your expectations.

Cons of the Posture Perfect Support

  • Hook-and-eye closure at the back makes you feel like you’re putting on a bra. May feel awkward if you’re not used to wearing bras—like if you’re a man.
  • Not available in skin tone or black. May create a fashion faux pas if you’re wearing thin material. (Try to stick with clothes that actually cover you up.)
  • Not one-size-fits-all. (Best to use this if you’re between sizes 6 and 16.)
  • Unlike other posture braces, this product does not wrap around a large part of the torso to double as a girdle. (At its price, you can buy a separate girdle and have a choice on whether you want to wear it with the posture support or not.)
  • Support is limited to the shoulders, not the entire back. (This is a cool, lightweight solution for people whose trouble is mainly rounded shoulders.)

Pros of the Posture Perfect Support

  • Machine washable. Throw it in with the rest of your stuff and let it spin. Great for people who cringe at the words “Handwash only”.
  • One-inch elastic band provides flexible support. Won’t make you feel as if you were strapped into a straitjacket.
  • Crisscross design provides maximum back support. Helps restore posture and reduce back strain.
  • One size fits most. No need to reveal to the world what your measurements are just to be able to to purchase this product.
  • Designed to be worn under the clothes.
  • Well-ventilated design. Won’t make you sweat under your clothes. Can be comfortably worn outdoors, in summer, while working out.
  • Comes in a neutral color: white. Goes with anything.
  • Unisex. And since it fits most sizes, you and your partner could take turns using it.
  • Sells at just around $11. This is one of the most affordable products of its class in the market today.
  • Hook-and-eye closure at the back allows for easy fit and adjustment. Putting it on is as quick and easy as putting on a bra.

Results and Recommendation

The Posture Perfect Support is best for people between sizes 6 to 16, who need nothing more than a gentle reminder to straighten their shoulders. If you do not fit into these criteria, it would be best for you to move on.

But we would strongly recommend that you make sure you’re in the right size range before purchasing this product.

Then, there’s the chafing. You would think, from looking at the product’s bra-like style, that it was indeed designed to be worn under clothes.

Well, perhaps. Like hairshirts were also designed to be worn under clothes.

Oh, our poor, red armpits! The product chafes! Then again, one cannot ask for too much, considering that it is just around $11.

Try wearing it over a thin shirt, like this user did. That should help. Read the story here.

But because of the immense amount of the expectation management that the Posture Perfect Support entails, we at Posture Brace Reviews cannot recommend this product.
